End-of-Life Pet Care in Greenland
Here at Greenland Veterinary Hospital, we want to be your pet’s veterinarian through every life stage, including the final one. As pet owners ourselves, we understand how special pets can be to a person and to a family. They’re our loyal companions when we need company and our “snuggle buddies” when we want to watch movies on a rainy day. But when their quality of life declines, sometimes putting them to sleep is something that just has to happen. We know you want your companion’s last days to be comfortable, which is why we offer end-of-life care services, including euthanasia and hospice care consultations. We can also help you and your family make the difficult end-of-life care decisions.
Pet Hospice (Comfort) Care Consultations
Hospice care provides comfort and quality-of-life care for the terminally ill pet when we decide with you that treatment is no longer a suitable option for your companion. Your dog or cat will be able to live out his life peacefully in the comfort and security of your home without the stress of treatment trips to the hospital.
We offer hospice care consultations if you choose to provide comfort-only hospice care in your home.
In-Home Pet Euthanasia
If you decide that it’s time to put your pet down, we offer in-office and at-home euthanasia. With at-home euthanasia, your companion can relax in her favorite place, whether it’s on a bed or on the living room couch. We’ll give you as much or as little information as you’re comfortable with about what to expect. We’ll also discuss your aftercare options (cremation or burial).
