Pet Diagnostics in Greenland, NHPet Diagnostics in Greenland

The annual wellness exam is usually the first means of diagnosing an illness, but there are many instances that call for advanced pet diagnostics (X-rays, ultrasound, lab testing, etc.). With our advanced imaging equipment and in-house lab, we can make fast, accurate diagnoses so your pet can receive treatment sooner. Our animal hospital is also equipped with a pet pharmacy, stocked with dozens of prescription medications. These services are just some of the many ways we strive to deliver your pet with high-quality, advanced veterinary care.

If you have questions about diagnostics or our pharmacy call us at 603-433-5665.

Digital Pet X-rays

Digital radiography (X-rays) is a valuable tool in veterinary medicine, just as it is with human medicine. X-rays allow us to safely examine your pet internally to evaluate the bones and various organs in the body. We can also examine the shape, size, and position of certain organs, which is beneficial for surgeries. One of the many benefits of digital X-rays is that the images are clearer than film and can be produced in a matter of seconds. They can also be easily emailed if necessary.

X-rays can reveal:

  • Broken bones/fractures
  • Foreign bodies
  • Bladder stones
  • Certain spinal cord diseases
  • …and more

Dog and Cat Ultrasounds

Ultrasound technology also allows for a non-invasive, safe internal examination of your pet. An ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce a 3D image of the internal organs in real time. It can be used to examine the kidneys, spleen, liver, and other organs from various angles. The high-definition images that are created enable us to determine organ function, also in real time.

With ultrasound technology, we can quickly diagnose:Vet performing an ultrasound on a cat

  • Tumors
  • Stones
  • Cysts
  • Inflammation
  • Other internal system problems
  • Pregnancy (heartbeats of puppies and kittens can be seen to ensure proper development)

In-House Laboratory and Pharmacy

Greenland Veterinary Hospital is equipped with a full in-house laboratory, where we can perform complete blood analyses, urine tests, and microscopy. Results can be made available in as little as 20 minutes. The sooner we can make a diagnosis, the sooner we can provide treatment.

Our animal hospital also includes an in-house pharmacy, where we carry only the safest parasite preventatives, nutritional supplements, prescription diet food, and dental care products for your pet. Our pharmacy offers safety and convenience, guaranteeing that the medication you purchase has been provided directly from manufacturers and stored in the best possible conditions. We’ll be happy to fill your pet’s prescriptions quickly and accurately.
