Welcome to Telemedicine in Greenland, NH | Online Vet Visits from the Comfort of Home

At Greenland Veterinary Hospital, we understand that making it to the vet when your furry friends needs care is not always easy or convenient. That’s why we’re pleased to offer telemedicine services! We make it a priority to deliver exceptional veterinary care to pets and their people whether they can make it into the hospital, or not.

Our online vet visits will be hosted through the telemedicine app, TeleTails. Using your smartphone, you’ll be able to connect directly with your veterinarian through video, photos, and messaging!

In What Situations Should I Use Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is a convenient tool to use with mild conditions or quick questions you have about your pet’s health.

Some appropriate telemedicine situations include:

  • Sneezing, coughing, or other mild symptoms
  • Behavioral changes
  • Skin rechecks
  • Puppy/kitten socialization and training guidance
  • Post-op recovery questions
  • Ongoing treatment plan and medication discussion
  • Hospice care
  • Nutrition questions

Since telemedicine does have some limitations, we may not be able to resolve all situations through a video consultation. In such a case, we will request you make an appointment to come into the hospital. A hospital visit allows us to fully examine your pet and perform any necessary diagnostics so we can deliver the very best care possible.

Telemedicine FAQs

Online vet visits are customized based on the patient’s needs and presenting issues. Consultations initiated by the client are $65 and rechecks initiated by the veterinarian are $35. Our team will guide you during the entire process of your pet’s medical plan and communicate recommended treatments and their associated costs.

If you start with a virtual visit consultation and end up at the clinic for problem resolution, your veterinarian will communicate the next steps based on his or her findings. We’ll discuss a medical treatment plan, and may make price adjustments on a case by case basis. Our goal is to provide the best care for your pet, and to provide convenient and cost-effective options for you.

Yes! Our veterinarians perform semi-annual examinations for best practice preventive healthcare, yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are accepting any and all appropriate virtual visits. The AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) has also temporarily lifted the requirements for VCPR (Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship) in light of the pandemic, thereby allowing us to conduct a telemedicine calls even if you are not a current client. Once the temporary order has been lifted, we must have an existing VCPR in place with your pet for a veterinarian to diagnose, prescribe medication, or otherwise treat an animal via telemedicine. Furthermore, your pet would also need to have been seen for a physical exam within the last 6 months.

We are currently able to conduct online vet visits during our regular hours. We will soon be offering this service during off hours and Sundays. To schedule a telemedicine consultation, please call us or request a consultation via the app. The TeleTails app is not for emergencies, urgent or severe medical issues. If you have a question or an immediate concern, please call our office directly at 603-433-5665.
